Currier Plastics to Aide College’s Plastics Technology Program

Currier Plastics to Aide College’s Plastics Technology Program

Plastics Business

Currier Plastics, Auburn, NY, is consulting with Cayuga Community College to help create its first plastics technology program.

CCC was awarded a grant last fall to develop an advanced manufacturing project in the plastics industry for New York State and to support state-wide workforce development initiatives. The program will have an injection molding machine with a press-mounted Cartesian robot and conveyor. Students will be able to troubleshoot the interfaces between it and a conveyor system.

Other plans include installation of a mobile multi-axis robot and construction of a mini factory to give students a hands-on learning experience of a real molding facility.
